Toyota to Recall Over One Million Vehicles Over Fuel Pump Issues

Toyota announced they are recalling 1.1 million vehicles due to issues with the fuel pump. The fuel pumps can fail while the car is moving, which could cause the engine to stall, and result in a crash.

“If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel,” the company said. “If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash.”

The recall includes numerous Toyota and Lexus models dating back to 2013. The total number of recalled vehicles now stands a 1.8 million.

Toyota said they will contact customers in May, and they will be able to bring their vehicle to a Toyota or Lexus dealer for a free replacement.

Owners can go to nhtsa.gov/recalls where they can enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or license plate to find out if your vehicle was recalled.
